*It should be noted that Susette & Amelia Ellen LeGace were raised by Samuel Wesley Handy after the death of their natural father, Pierre LeGace Jr, and their mother's second marriage to Samuel Wesley Handy. Susette & Amelia Ellen went by the surname Handy. Although they were never legally adopted by Samuel Wesley Handy he raised them as his own.
